You
can use existing frames and photos, or create an entirely new frame. Just
find a frame you want to hang and follow these few simple guidelines. All
of the materials you will need to complete this project are available at your
local discount retailer or crafting and hobby store. You most likely
have the tools in your home.
All you’ll need:
Ribbon in your choice of colors,
design, and width
Small nails or tacks
Super glue or hot glue gun
Hammer
Crafting Wire
To Get Started:
1). Remove the back and the
glass from the frame.
2). Decide on how much your
ribbon you want to show while the frame is hanging-as well as how low you want
the frame to hang. Cut that length of ribbon.
3). Put a small dab of glue
at each corner of the frame and place the edges of the ribbon into the glue
one side at a time. This will ensure that your ribbon remains in place
while you are securing it with nails.
4). Nail a small nail or
tack into each of the corners.
5). Decorate the ribbon by
adding a bow to the top (where it will be hanging from the nail in the wall)
or at the side of the frame. To place a bow securely at the top of the
ribbon you may want to secure it with a small piece of crafting wire and cover
the wire with the ribbon to ensure that the bow won’t move.
Some
alternative uses for the hanging frame:
Type out a saying or inspirational
quote, frame it, and hang it.
Use the frame as a door hanger.
Little girls will especially love a frilly pink bow on sign that says:
“Knock” or “My Room”.
Make a sign for your child’s
bedroom door with their name.
Some suggestions for your
hanging frame:
Secure extra decorative ribbon to
a plain wooden frame.
Use the hanging frames to dress up
a kitchen or bathroom wall.
Combine this craft and
another-such as a flowered photo frame-for an extra unique finished product.
