Home Address Flower Pots
This craft is simple to
complete and takes very little time. It's an easy and fun way to dress up
any front porch or patio.
What You Need
-
Terra Cotta pots
which can be purchased at any
home and garden store. You'll want to
purchase as many as the amount of numbers in your home
address. For example: if your address is 1814 S. Main you
would need four pots. You can also make flower pots with the street name
as well. I would recommend writing the entire street name on just
one pot as to avoid crowding.
-
Acrylic crafting
paint in your choice of colors. You can purchase this paint at any
of your local crafting stores and a 2 oz. bottle should be more than
enough for this project. White paint is recommended, since it
shows up best against the terra cotta colored pots.
-
One small to medium
size paint brush.
Let's Begin
To create your address
pots you'll first want to outline the numbers of your home on your pots.
With a pencil, draw a number onto each pot. If you aren't sure you
want to try this freehand you should be able to find stencils at a local
crafting store as well.
Using your paint and
brush, draw each number onto a separate pot and wait for it to dry (paint
should dry in about 30 minutes). Apply another coat after the 1st coat
dries.
That's all there is to
this fun craft! Set your pots on your porch or patio where they can be
seen easily, but remember to keep them out of the way of rainfall to prevent
the numbers from fading.
Additional Tips
-
As spring arrives,
plant small flowers in your address pots for an extra special effect.
-
A cute twist to this
craft is using different sizes of pots for the numbers and staggering the
sizes.
-
Be creative! Free
hand designs and swirls around the pots for extra decoration.
